James C. "Pops" Piland, 71, passed away Friday September 11, 2020 in Terre Haute. He was born November 11, 1948 in Franklin, Kentucky to Lawrence and Myrtle (McDaniel) Piland.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers,  Robert, Bill, Albert, and Millard Piland.  Jim is survived by his brother.  L.J. Piland; daughter, Carissa McLain; son David Lee Piland; seven grandchildren, Bailey Piland, Christopher Harshaw, Jonathan Harshaw, Patricia Bagget, Paul Harshaw, Amber Harshaw, and Jasper Piland; along with 11 great grandchildren.  Jim was a US Army veteran during the Vietnam War and was proud of serving his country.  He also enjoyed Harley's and Fishing.  Jim's Family would like to send a special thank you to Southern Care Hospice and to Silver Birch Assisted Living for the help and support with Jim.  His daughter Carissa would not have made it through this without them.
