James Frederick Powers, 82, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 in Union Hospital.  He was a retired school bus driver for the Vigo County School Corporation.  He was a self-employed truck driver for many years.  Many knew him well from always riding his tractor and bailing hay.   Jim was born April 2, 1939 in Terre Haute to Fred and Rose (Brock) Powers.  He is survived by his wife Dottie; daughters Rhonda Hannah (Michael), Stacy Hollingsworth (Rusty) of South Carolina, Kelly Powers of San Diego, California; step-son Jeffery Keene, Spencer, IN; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Carol, Linda, Donna Powers of Terre Haute, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Jim is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Leo, Tom, Donnie; sister Freda Hojem, as well as daughter Diane, all of Terre Haute.  There will be a celebration of life for Jim at a later date.
