James R. Davis, 77 of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday January 13, 2016 at 9:15 pm in Kindred Southwood Health and Rehab Center. He was the owner of a condominium cleaning company in Florida. James was born June 10, 1938 in Terre Haute to James Albert Davis and Helen (Lybarger) Davis. He is survived by his son James A. Browning and his wife Patricia Browning of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Mindy and Chance Browning; a sister, Nancy C. Davis Kirby; a brother, Gilbert E. Davis and nieces, nephews, and cousins. James was preceded in death by his father, James Albert Davis, his mother, Helen Bell, a brother, William L. Davis, and his best friend and business partner, Allen Klash. Visitation will be Tuesday January 19, 2016 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. with funeral services at 12:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Katy Roush officiating. As per James request, cremation will follow the services. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
