James Joseph Yaraschefski, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017.
He was born July 7, 1949 in Terre Haute to Alex J. Yaraschefski and Geraldine F. Mabe Yaraschefski.
Jim was a family man and dedicated himself to providing for those he loved. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved gardening and the outdoors. He also loved riding his motorcycle and dancing. He had a great sense of humor and always made people smile with his funny comments.
James was a graduate of Indiana State University and served in the United States Air Force after graduation. He was an engineer for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
James is survived by his children, Julie Yaraschefski , Kristy Bednarko and her husband, Jason and David Yaraschefski and his wife, Kara; his brother, Steve Yaraschefski; his sister, Marilyn Bensinger; and his grandchildren, Lucas Yaraschefski, Eli Yaraschefski, Bowen Bednarko, Noah Bednarko, Alicia Forrester and Aiden Forrester.
A small Memorial will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at The Barrington of Carmel (Plaza Entrance), 1335 South Guilford Road, Carmel, Indiana, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with brief comments at 7:30 p.m.
Main Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana, with visitation from 10-11:00 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery; Pastor Jeff Lee will be officiating.
