Jeffery W. Ray of Linton, Indiana, formerly of Ft. Wayne, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 31, 2026. He was a 1976 graduate of Homestead High School, where he lettered two years in football and wrestling. He then graduated in 1981 from IU in Bloomington with a degree in Liberal Arts. He was an avid fan of IU basketball and football. Jeff also enjoyed the time spent at his family’s beautiful lake home in Coldwater, Michigan, where he spent his summers on the lake with his brother and their friends and his buzzen cousin. Jeff worked for 25 years for the family’s construction company, Carl Ray Builders. Then he spent another 15 years as a flat roofer at Ft. Wayne Roofing Corporation. Jeff retired at the age of 62 and moved down to Linton, Indiana to be with his love, Lisa Roberts. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Julia M. Ray, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

He leaves behind his “Queen of Green”, Lisa Roberts, her son, Ethan (Katie) Ludwig, grandchildren, Jaylin Ludwig, Aedin Ludwig, and Madelyn Ludwig. His brother Greg (Gail) Ray, a nephew, nieces, several cousins, and many Friends. As well as his two cats, Twister and Buttercups.
