Jerry Dean Turner, 68, of Terre Haute passed away on June 11, 2026. He was born to Henry Turner and Betty Strobel on March 31, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised by his grandparents, Trana and Cecil Turner in Berry, Alabama. Jerry had a career as a Deep Tunnel Foreman.

Jerry enjoyed being outdoors by fishing, camping, and golfing. He also enjoyed playing pool and was a great player; he was a long-time pool league member. He was the go-to fix it man and a great mechanic who loved working on cars. Jerry was lovingly known as Pawpaw to his grandchildren and was like a father to many. He was a member of Union Christian Church.

Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Theresa (Hagy) Turner; his grandparents; both his parents; brothers Donald Turner, Terry Turner.

Jerry is survived by children Jerry Turner, Jr., Lorene Benefiel (Jack); grandchildren, Carson Turner, Memphis Turner, Josie Benefiel; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation for Jerry will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Union Christian Church in Terre Haute from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Service will begin at 3:00 pm officiated by Pastor Mark Stair with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
