Jimmie Warren Vester of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on July 20, 2024, peacefully at home at 1:00 pm. He simply laid his head on the kitchen table and went to sleep. This was such a blessing as he had been in bad health for the last three years and has no more pain. Born on January 30, 1934, he was raised in Terre Haute and attended public schools and Gershmeyer Tech.

Jim was a man of many hats; a hard worker and he installed old farm machinery for scrap and local contracting. His passion was fishing with his fishing buddies and playing poker with family, especially 4 card guts.

Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years Dolores "June" Hensley; daughters Peggie Byington and Elizabeth Craig; stepdaughters Twyla Glenz and Kelly Graig; two sons, Timothy Vester and Jeffrey Vester; his sister Betty Heims and her husband Everette Heims who he was especially close to; 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Jim had eight children and four preceded him in death: John Vester, Jimmie Vester, Rebecca Nicoson, Connie Van Duren. He will be greatly missed.

The family has chosen cremation with no services with a burial at a later date at Second Prairie Creek Cemetery.
