John Henry Carter Day was born on June 14, 1958 to Charles and Elsie Day and lived in Burnett most of his life and formally of Monitcello, Kentucky.  John was in the Navy and had many jobs.  He loved to work!  John is survived by his daughter Dani Day of Fargo, North Dakota and son Christopher (Brooke) (Jace) Swiger of Monticello, Kentucky; two brothers Charles Day of Terre Haute and Tom Day of Monticello, Kentucky; three sisters, Violet Stevens of Leigh Acres, Florida, Mary (Don) Coomer of Monticello, Kentucky and Margaret (Chuck) Morton of West Terre Haute, Indiana, and the mother of his children Rose Swiger of Somerset, Kentucky.  John had many nieces and nephews that he loved and they loved him.  He will be missed greatly.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bob Day.

There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the German Oberlander Club of Terre Haute located at 1616 Layfayette Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana 47805.  Anyone wanting to bring a covered dish or donate anything, someone will be there at 1:00 p.m. or call 812-201-4568.  Samaritan Funeral Home assisted with cremation.  Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
