John Ivan Montgomery, 64, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026. He was born to O. Tom Montgomery and Neva (Crane) Montgomery on January 21, 1962 in Terre Haute.

John was a graduate of Terre Haute South High School. After graduating, he served proudly in the United States Army, which he retired from. John also retired after many years of employment as a skilled machinist. He loved riding motorcycles and he loved dogs - any dog of his was very well cared for. John was a member of the American Legion Riders Chapter 328, the Krietenstein Post 104, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

John is preceded in death by both of his parents; nephews, Jacob Clark and Josh Clark; and his sister, Millie Clark.

John is survived by his son, Jeremy Montgomery (Justina); brother, David Montgomery (Lori); grandchild, JayDin Montgomery; nephews, Raymond Montgomery (Annika) and Kevin Montgomery; and many friends.

Cremation has been entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at IBEW 725 Hall, 5675 E Hulman Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
