John Richard “Buddha”Powell, Jr. was born Nov. 1, 1963 in Clinton, IN. He went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2026 at 9:19pm. He was an avid pool player, horseshoe player and built and drove in the demo derby. He was proceeded in death by his Mother and step-father Jewel and Earl Steeples. His father John Powell Sr, grandparents, his great niece Bailey Haynes, Briana Steele, Kaleb Steele, Nephew Brian Steele and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his sister Sarah Petts, nephew Devon Petts, nieces Sarah Steele and Nicole Petts, Step-daughter Tosha Wasson, Step-son PJ Wasson, Great-nieces Shelby Steele (Gavin Wainwright), Emily Flinchum (Nathan Flinchum), and great-nephew Levi Petts.
