In Loving Memory of Josie Mae Cobb
October 3, 1989 – June 11, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Josie Mae Cobb, who left this world on June 11, 2026, at the age of 36. Born in Wood River, Illinois, on October 3, 1989, Josie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Josie’s greatest joy in life was her three beloved children—Dakota, Asher, and Amelia. They were the center of her world and her greatest source of pride and love.
Known for her caring heart, contagious energy, and unmistakable sense of humor, Josie brought light and laughter wherever she went. She was delightfully goofy, a little ditzy, and unapologetically herself—a true blonde through and through. Her smile and ability to make others feel loved are memories that will be treasured forever.
Through her journey, Josie rediscovered her worth, strengthened her relationship with the Lord, and found belonging in a community that loved her deeply. She carried a heart full of compassion and a genuine desire to serve and care for others. Her life, marked by perseverance, faith, and love, left an undeniable impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Some of the moments she held closest were reconnecting with her children and family, graduating from the Ruth House program, moving into her own shared apartment, and purchasing a vehicle of her own. These were more than accomplishments—they were symbols of the life she worked so hard to rebuild.
Josie is survived by her children, Dakota, Asher, and Amelia; her parents, Tomella and Monty Loveless; her grandparents, James and Sherry Cobb, and Vicki Blackburn; her siblings, Jaclyn (Jeff) Bagley, Heather (Joshua) Fagg, Samantha (Talexyn) Lucas, Michelle (Evan) Eslinger, Dustin (Sierrah) Loveless, and Megan Loveless; her sisters in Christ, Brittany, Melanie, and Jonna; aunt, Laurie Cobb; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Cobb; her grandparents, Thomas and Florence Sanders and Gilbert and Emma Cobb; her uncle David Cobb, along with several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Though our hearts are broken by this loss, we find comfort in knowing Josie’s legacy lives on through her children, her faith, her recovery journey, and the many lives she touched with her kindness and strength.
“She fought hard, loved deeply, laughed often, and leaves behind a legacy of hope, faith, and perseverance. Though she is no longer with us, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.”
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed. ❤️
