Katia G. Hristova M.D., 84, of Terre Haute, joined her husband Bogdan, on May 25, 2021, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

Katia was born July 20, 1936, in Kameno, Bulgaria to the late Gospodin Markov and the late Maria Markova. She had one older brother, Gyorgi, who preceded her in death. On November 6, 1961 she married her love, Dr. Bogdan Hristov, who preceded her in death.

She attended medical school in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and briefly practiced family medicine, then practiced anesthesiology for more than 30 years touching the lives of thousands.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and James Lake, three sisters-in law in Bulgaria, numerous nieces and nephews residing in Bulgaria as well, Samantha Bailey, her care-giver who provided her with such wonderful care in the waning months of her life and the family cats.

Samaritan Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. There will be no services.
