Kenneth Wesley
Boyer
May 24, 1928 – February 24, 2024
Kenneth Wesley Boyer, affectionately known by all who loved him as "Frank(ie)," "Fransisco," or, "Toto," 95, passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side, February 24th, 2024.
Frank was born May 24th, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois to Wesley Boyer and Ethel (Simonson) Boyer. He grew up in Midlothian, Illinois and graduated from high school before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After serving in the Korean War, he eventually settled in Tampa, Florida where he met the love of his life, Olga Pages Boyer.
You'd often hear him say, "You are my one and only," to her. Their exchanges of "I love you," and "I love you more," were spoken daily. They were a beautiful example of true love that withstood the years. To hear them tell the tale, they would be married 67 years this year. However, (upon further investigation and many giggles later) the truth was revealed that they were united in marriage August 9th, 1963. Smiling from ear-to-ear, Frankie said, "Her father would have killed me if he knew I was shacking-up with her."
After serving time in the Air Force, Frank spent the majority of his carpentry career remodeling homes in Sun City, Florida. Every summer, he, Olga, and Darius would travel all over the country creating life-long memories and many stories to be told around the dining room table. He loved to talk and had definitely been blessed with the gift of gab.
He was a proud Veteran and loved to wear his Air Force hat to make sure he got a Veteran's discount anywhere he would go. He was, in fact, always ready to "Rock and Roll, Baby!" He loved the warmth of the Florida sun, shooting craps, beer with his pizza, and an occasional shot of Old Barton's Whiskey. He loved his family and would always be sure to let us know "I'm proud of you!"
He had a passion for all sports and was often seen sporting the shirts of his favorite teams: The Bucs, The Rays, Illinois, and the White Sox. Even with all of his favorite teams, nothing could compare to his favorite athlete-his son, Darius.
Frank lived an incredible 95 years, full of adventures and stories he loved to share. He is very loved and will be very missed.
He is survived by:
His soulmate, Olga Boyer
Son and Daughter-in-law, Darius and Jennifer Boyer
Grandchildren: Brookelyn (Nathan) Eubank, Cole (Tarin) Edgar, Wesley Boyer, Rylan Whistler, and Braxton Boyer.
Great Grandchildren: Rhett, Scarlett, Baker, Jovie, Hattie and Salem.
