Larry C. Purcell, 70, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday March 31, 2016 in St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis He had worked for Conrail, Stran-Steel, iron workers union, owned the Joker Tavern, worked at Powell-Stephenson and the Terre Haute Street Department. Larry was born April 5, 1945 in Terre Haute to Clyde H. Purcell and Mary Katherine (Campbell) Purcell. He is survived by his wife Diane R. (Jenkins Hampton) Purcell; a daughter, Brittany Purcell Cardona (Luis) of Lafayette, IN; a step-daughter, Danielle Trout (Daniel Bedecki) ; step-sons, James D. Trout (Mika Yocum) and Shawn Paulin (Jessica) all of Terre Haute; sisters, Peggy Purcell Hanna (Bill) and Judy Purcell both of Terre Haute and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Paige Purcell Burdine. Larry was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post #104. Visitation will be Monday April 4, 2016 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. and Tuesday April 5, 2016 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm with funeral services at 4:00 pm in the funeral home with Reverend Clark Cowden officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated to help off-set expenses.
