Linda Kathryn Vickers passed away August 9, 2018 at the  Gibson Family Hospice Center at Union Hospital in Terre Haute after a long illness.  Born April 29, 1939 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Ewing Allen Erikson and Mae Kathryn Sutton Brinton.

Linda graduated from Indiana State Teachers College.  She married Merle Stewart Vickers on August 24, 1963 in Riley.  She was a retired educator having worked 35 years for the Vigo County School System and Indiana State University.  She was co-owner of Bohannon's South Fine Foods and Catering for many years.  Linda was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity and numerous other philanthropic organizations.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jane Allen Erikson of Rockford, Illinois.

Survivors include her daughter Melissa Lynn Vickers of Terre Haute, Melissa's father Stu Vickers, two sisters; Martha Jean Brinton of Terre Haute and Donna Lee Brinton of Bloomington, Indiana, one neice Stacy Fry of Rockford, Illinois and one nephew J.T. Forbes of Bloomington, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Linda was a lifelong lover of animals and cherished her dogs to the end of her life.

Following her wished, cremation was chosen.  Samaritan Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.  No services will be held but a Celebration of Linda's life will be held at Red Barn on Poplar Street in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 28, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m..  A Memorial Scholarship is being established in her honor.
