Marian S. Husain, 88, of W. Terre Haute, passed away at 5:30 PM on February 18th. She was surrounded by her family and faithful cat. She was only two months shy of turning 89. Marian worked for many years at the Vigo County Health Department as an Epidemiologist. She held a master's degree in Microbiology from the University of Chicago and graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Illinois with a degree in Microbiology.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Husain of Indianapolis; sons David (Jeanne) of Evanston, Illinois as well as by their children Patrick and Zachary; and Michael (Tanya) of Indianapolis and their children: Kenna, Avalon, and Sawyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Syd S. Husain; and her older sister, Helen Hill.

A great animal-lover, she had a dedicated group of neighborhood dogs who barked for her every morning to go for a walk. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, knitting, gardening and traveling. Marian was also a long-time member of the Terre Haute P.E.O. Sisterhood International organization.

A memorial service will be held at 11:15am on March 29th at the Saint Mary of the Woods college campus (entry via the Providence Center).
