Obituary

Marilyn Broyles, 89, passed away on August 31, 2026, surrounded by her family with love and respect.

Born March 5, 1937, in North Manchester, Indiana to Jerome and Blanche Metzger née Snell, Marilyn lived most of her life in Westfield, Indiana where she and her husband built a life rooted in family, hard work, and care for others. Marilyn was a dedicated school bus driver and a devoted homemaker whose hands were rarely still, known for her skill in gardening, sewing, farming, and cooking.

She approached life with integrity and determination and was always willing to lend a hand to someone who needed it. Whether she was caring for someone or growing and making something, Marilyn gave herself fully to what was in front of her. Her kindness was expressed not only in words, but through the countless things she did for others.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles I. Broyles. She is survived by her sons, Gary, Michael, Richard, and Mark Broyles; her two daughters-in-law Carolyn and Deborah Broyles and her two granddaughters, Megan and Madison Broyles.

Her family hopes Marilyn will be remembered for her kindness, her determination, and the care and craftsmanship she brought to everything she made and everyone she loved.
