Mary Jordan English, 70, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. She was born to Edward D. Barnes and Inez (Evans) Scott on December 25, 1955.

Mary was involved in Boy Scouts (Troop 22), where she used her wisdom to teach young men and filled a motherly role for some. Though she was retired, later in life she could be considered a "Jill of all trades". She wore many hats, from bus driver to cleaning hotel rooms. Despite the many jobs she had, one of her favorites was being a mother.

If you were to ask people around town about her, those who knew her would say she was the sweetest. If you ask her sons, depending on the day, they might say she had her not so sweet parts too.

Mary always tried her best to be true and kind. She was a light in many people's lives and her memory will persist.

Mary is survived by her sons, Harry English and David English; mother, Inez; sisters, Roberta Reed, Pamela Steed, Tina Steed, and Sally Steed; brothers, Joseph Scott, Curtis Sr. Steed, Duane Steed, and Mark Steed; and many others who loved her.
