Obituary

Mary H Tanner, 81 of Brazil IN passed away in her home on May, 26 2017. Mary was born January 6, 1936 in Terre Haute to William and Edith Rogers. Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years, William Franklin Tanner. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary attended Corner Stone Bible Church. She retired from Kmart after working there for over 20 years. Mary loved to watch her children and grandchildren play sports and took much pride in attending every sporting event. Her favorite things to do was cooking and gardening, as well as getting her grocery shopping done. She is proceeded in death by her parents; her daughter, Debbie Hicks; brother William Buck Rogers; her two sisters Betty Brown and Louise Eppert. Mary is survived by her husband; her daughters, Marilyn, Beth (Roy) Mix, Lisa (Gary) Backfish, and Vicki Knust; Son David Tanner; her brother John (Karin) Rogers; sister Delores (Mike) Bridgewater; her grandchildren Scott (Juleigh) James, Billy James, Joshua (Ashley) James, Justin (Gwen) James, Levi (Bree) James, Breanna (Eric) Reberger, Ethan (Sara) Tanner, Dabryn Tanner, Renee (Jake) Reece, Cole Watts, Justine Farris and her fiancé Zach Niehaus,Tanner Knust, Wyatt and Kobe Backfish, Lindsay (Travis) Stevenson, and Austin Hicks; 15 great grandchildren with one on the way. Visitation for Mary will be held at Samaritan Funeral Home on 25th and Wabash in Terre Haute on Tuesday May 30 from 5-8 pm with services following the next day, Wednesday, May 31 at 1 pm. With Pastor Daniel Bryan officiating. Burial will follow funeral services at Highland Lawn cemetery.
