Melissa "Missy" Dawn Kernstein, 57, passed away March 5, 2025.  She was born on February 21, 1968 to Bobby "Bob" Kernstein and Marilyn "Susie" Kernstein (Keltz).  She was preceded in death by both parents.  She is survived by her Daughter, Kelsey Fischer (Aaron Kamm) of Montrose, IL, her Son, Josh Fischer (Sara Whitaker, Haisley & Blakely Fischer) of Terre Haute, IN, her Brother, Jerry Kernstein & (Sister-in-Law, but always her Best Friend, Tammy Kernstein) of Clinton, IN, nephew, Jordan Kernstein and niece Breanna Dickerson (Nick & Aubrey Dickerson) of Clinton, IN, Her adopted Daughter, Bretta Wheatfill (Austin, Ryder, Rosie, and Rae'Lynn Wheatfill) of Terre Haute, IN.  Missy was a one of a kind woman. She stood up for what she believed in and would have helped anyone who needed her, no matter the circumstance. She was loving and caring towards all. She loved animals, especially cats and had many close kitty companions throughout her life, Cleo being her final feline friend. Missy loved the color Purple and collected many knick-knack and keepsakes in that color that she cherished deeply. She was a big fan of Hard Rock music and always wanted to share her Love for it with others. She was always full of life and would talk in depth with every person until they were no longer strangers. She will be deeply missed by all. We pray her light is shining bright once again and that she is finally resting in peace.
