Michael Edward Compton, 64, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday September 29, 2022 in Union Hospital. He was born August 13, 1958 in Terre Haute to John A. and Barbara Jean (Davis) Compton-Jackson. Michael is survived by his wife, Janet (Tickner) Compton; son, Nicholas David Compton (Lea); step-son, Dwan Ellington, Jr.; step-daughters, Amber Ellington and Rhema Long; sisters, Leslie Renee Compton-King and Lynnette Rochelle Compton-Mathews; brothers, Stanley Ray Compton (Marvesa) and Richard Gregory Compton (Angela); six step-grandchildren, one step-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lorie Michelle Compton-Shauntee and brother, John Allen Compton, Jr. Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He grew up in Bethlehem Temple Church and was a noted athlete in high school, where some of his records still stand. He participated in football, basketball, track, and cross-country. Visitation will be Saturday October 8, 2022 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home with military honors and funeral services starting at 12:00 pm.
