Michael D. Kates, 66, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday October 23, 2022 in Gibson Family Hospice Center. He was owner of Kates Floor Service. He was born February 3, 1956 in Terre Haute to Henry and Lucille (Richardson) Kates. Mike is survived by his wife, Loretta (Gillin) Kates; daughter, April Marlow (Chris); sons, Joshua Moore (Rinthea) and Jason Moore; sister, Judith O'Neil; brother, Rodney Kates (Kathy); grandchildren, Stephanie, Hayley, Shelby, Alexia, Kaden, Trenton, Bryson, and Wyatt and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Kates. Mike was a member of the Brazil American Legion.
