Michael W. Ofsansky, Jr., 80, of Terre Haute passed away at his home on Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was born in Terre Haute on April 26, 1946 to Michael W. Ofsansky, Sr. and Catherine Virostko Ofsansky, who precede him in death.

Michael graduated from Garfield High School in 1964 and served in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. He worked in the engineering department at J.I. Case before later founding Michael Ofsansky & Associates Real Estate Brokers and Appraisers. He also served as past president of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers and formerly was a Democrat precinct committeeman for the Collett Park voting area.

Michael dearly loved his family and will be remembered for his dedication to them throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary L. (Frerichs) Ofsansky; sons, Michael W. Ofsansky III and David W. Ofsansky (Mercedes Reeder Ofsansky); grandchildren, Westbrook Ofsansky and Sylvia Rose Ofsansky, whom he adored; and sister, Linda K. Yatsko.
