October 30, 1947 – February 24, 2024
Michael Lee Trendelman of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Union Hospital. He was born in Columbus, Indiana, on October 30, 1947, to Donald Lee and Norma Jean Trendelman.
Mike is survived by six children, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Tabatha Siniard, Melanie Trendelman and fiancé, Robby Kirk, Shawn Trendelman, Heather Trendelman-Higgins, Missy Nilson, DeAnn (Jeremiah) Latta; Ashley (Tucker) Kaufmann, Breanne Siniard, Dylan (Hilal) Siniard, Story Heckman, Kennedy, Karsen and Riley Trendelman, Kaitlyn and Dawson Higgins, Grayson Goss, Raven Renn, Sophia Hussey; Wren Moore, Virginia "Ginny" Kaufmann, and Jack Kaufmann.
Also surviving are four siblings, Patricia (George) Chidester, Mark (Sheri) Trendelman, Donna (Dan) Smith,
and Kimberly (Danny) Minger, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, and nephew Jon Burch.
Mike graduated from Bloomington High School in 1965 and joined the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company before forming a business partnership and opening a Ziebart franchise in Bloomington. Mike branched out on his own to open a second Ziebart franchise in Terre Haute in the early 80's. Following retirement from the rustproofing business, many years were dedicated to working on cars in his personal garage.
In his spare time, Mike enjoyed photography, golfing, and volunteering for Lions Club fundraisers and church functions. Also noteworthy is an extensive history as a volunteer fireman for Van Buren Township.
Mike will long be remembered for his engaging smile, firm handshake, and infectious laugh. He was kind, generous, and so very proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Mike will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
A celebration of Mike Trendelman's life will be determined and announced at a future date.
