Mildred Rader, 94, of Terre Haute passed away on August 27, 2019at Westminster Village.  She was born to Albert Shappell and Elizabeth Black Shappell on July 20, 1925.  Mildred is preceded in death by both her parents and her son, James Dwight Rader.  She is survived by her grandchildren James Lee Rader (Carolyn) and Timothy Rader;  Great Grand Children Rebekah Rader, James Rader, Daniel Rader and David Rader; Daughter-in-law Betty Rader-Goodman; Nephew David Rader (Judy), Carl (Lisa) Rader, and Keith Rader (Melinda); Niece Susie Ensey (David) as well as several other extended family members.  Mildred was a member of Terre Haute's Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 43. She belonged to ST Mark United Church of Christ.  Mildred spent over one million hours of volunteer work serving Terre Haute Regional Hospital, South Florida Community College, and Leadership of Terre Haute. Visitation for Mildred will be held at Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. Terre Haute, on Tuesday, September 3rd from 11:00-1:00, Eastern Star and funeral services starting at 1:00 PM.  Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park will follow.  Reverend Teresa Higues will be officiating. A special thanks to her loving caregivers who became her second family the last several months of her life. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
