Nancy Jeanne Courtney (McGuire) passed away at the age of 92 on January 31, 2024 at Hutsonwood in Brazil, Indiana. Born July 31, 1931 in Liberal, Kansas to Donald McGuire and Jeanne Montaldo. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ralph Courtney.

Nancy is survived by two daughters, Karen Courtney of Terre Haute, IN and Mary Rose Tener (Tom) of Newburg, Indiana. Nancy received her Bachelors of Science degree from Indiana State Teachers College (NKA Indiana State University). She worked at the Instructional Materials Center at the Vigo County School Corporation for many years and retired from there. She was a long-time member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church and a member of the Alter Society and Soup Kitchen volunteer for many years. Her most important accomplishment, according to her daughters, was being the very best Mama anyone could ask for.

Services will be a funeral mass at St. Benedict's Catholic Church on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 12:05 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parke-Vermillion County Humane Shelter or Vigo County CODA.
