Nancy C.
Russell
November 30, 1944 – May 15, 2026
Nancy Carol (Hooker) Russell, 81, of Terre Haute, IN passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of family.
Born on November 30 1944 in Terre Haute, IN to Henry Hooker and Mary (Simmons) Hooker, Nancy lived a life rooted in faith, family, and kindness. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Earl Marshall “Buck” Russell and their marriage was built on love, faith, and dedication to family.
A devoted Pentecostal Christian, she loved the Lord deeply and carried her faith with strength and grace throughout her life. She found joy in simple moments — sharing coffee with loved ones, gathering with family, and creating a home filled with warmth and laughter.
Above all else, Nancy treasured her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and mother figure to anyone she met. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with the people she loved most. Her family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind countless cherished memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles for years to come.
She is survived by her sister Donna (Butch) Johnson; children Jean Long, Laura (Richard Miekow) Russell, and Austin (Mattie) Russell; step-children Jim Russell, Larry (Pat) Russell, and George (Shelly) Russell; grandchildren RJ Miekow, Oscar Long, and Brooklynn Mize; great-grandchild Astrid Russell. There are also several surviving nephews, nieces, step-children, adopted grandchildren, and adopted great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Buck, and three stepdaughters.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held. Family and friends are encouraged to celebrate her life in their own special ways — whether through sharing a cup of coffee, spending time with loved ones, reflecting on cherished memories, or simply carrying forward the kindness and love she gave so freely.
“Her faith was strong, her heart was kind, and her love for her family will never be forgotten.”
