Noel Geoffrey "Jeff" Jones, 62 passed away on April 20, 2020 at home. Noel was born on Christmas Day in 1957 in Jenkins-Jones, West Virginia to the parents of William and Bonnie Mae Jones, he was the finale of fourteen children, and was called the "miracle baby". Noel loved his parents and always talked about them. He was extremely close to his siblings and loved family.
Noel and the Jones tribe moved from Jenkins-Jones, West Virginia to Queens, NY where he graduated from Francis Lewis High School in 1975. Noel also attended LaGuardia Community College for a year to study Data Processing. Noel worked at Sears for many years. Noel met and fell in love with his wife, Christine, in New York, where they lived raising 6 children.
Noel later relocated to Terre Haute, IN., where for years he worked for Great Dane Trailers and also married the love of his life, Christine Sanders, on August 28, 2004 in Terre Haute, IN. by Pastor Henry E. Barnhill of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Noel had a strong Baptist upbringing and that followed him throughout his life.
Noel worked hard and knew the value of working, the importance of providing for his family, as well as providing for himself, values instilled by his parents and he always shared stories of the lessons they taught him.
Noel was a gentle giant, always there, always giving no matter what, never judging, always embracing, always supportive and loving, and always said his piece. He LOVED family. Whenever he was around family or talked to them on the phone, they shared stories, laughs, memories of good and bad times, and he always shared his love for his siblings, nieces, nephews, children, and grandchildren.
Noel leaves behind to cherish his wonderful memories his loving wife Christine Jones, his children, Bennett (Nicole), Lakisha, Donisha, Christine, Robert, and Shanequa (honorary son Jason). His grandchildren Tyshaya, N'Taya, Tyreek, Dareal, Aronnel, Taviyah, Elijah, Tanee, Amar, I'Asia, Kyla, and Tyshawn. His best friend Anthony Page. His great-granddaughter, Harmony. Also, a whole host of nieces, nephews, friends, family, and those he called family.
He leaves behind three sisters and their spouses: Hestina, Brenda (Jimmy), and Phyllis (Tony). Three brothers and their spouses: Bobby, Gus, and Rudolph (Pat). He is preceded in death by his parents who he loved dearly, talked about frequently, and slept with their picture close to him nightly. They are together again: William and Bonnie Mae Jones; his brothers and sister: Nathaniel (Buck), William (Muffin), Ernest (Leroy), Kenny, Larry, Samuel, and Naomi.
