“Well done, good and faithful servant.”Owen Eugene Flora Jr., 79, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026, following a lengthy illness and extended stays at Springhill Village, the hospital, and hospice care.Born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 27, 1947, Owen’s life was a testament to perseverance, courage, and faith. At the age of three, he was diagnosed with polio, beginning a difficult journey that included numerous treatments, multiple surgeries, and time in an iron lung. Through it all, he showed strength, perseverance, and determination.

During his career, he held several positions but took special pride in serving as a Dispatcher for the Terre Haute Police Department. He found purpose in and serving his community.Owen was an active member of New Life Fellowship Church in Terre Haute, Indiana.Owen loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Eugene Flora Sr. (1982) and Mildred A. Day Flora (2005); his sisters, Connie Marlene Flora (1946) and Betty Jean Snape (Don); and his children, Leah Rogers Flora and Rodney Flora.He is survived by his brother, Donald Wilbur (Mary) of Charleston, South Carolina; his sister, Cheryl Marlene Bennett (Larry) of Terre Haute, Indiana; his children, Tonya Flora and Marian Payne; several grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.

His life touched many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.Forever Loved, Forever Remembered.
