God called Para Lee Stevens of Terre Haute, Indiana home on Wednesday June 5, 2024

She was born February 3, 1938, in Missouri, to William Luther Jarvis and Viola Lee, Para was the 7th of thirteen children.

Para attended Dunbar Elementary in Hodges Park, IL. and Tamms High School in Tamms IL. After graduating high school she joined the army, after serving time in the military she relocated to Chicago where she met and married John Stevens. She worked a few jobs and retired from the medical field in 2006.

Proceeding Para in death, both parents, four brothers Willie D., Leroy, Leotha and James; six sisters Emma jean, Lucille, Geraldine, Irene, Hattie and Lenora.

Left to cherish her memory are her four loving children ~ Viola Jarvis Chavers (son in law Antoine Chavers), Mary Lathan, Diane Stevens, and John Stevens; two loving sisters ~ Ida Jarvis and Iola Jarvis; 12 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Samaritan Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Service will begin at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with military honors presented.
