Peggy A. Payne, 87, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday December 11, 2016 at 2:17 am in Union Hospital. She was an Administrative Assistant at Indiana State University. Peggy was born February 27, 1929 in Terre Haute to Floyd Boden and Elsie (Duncan) Boden. She is survived by her daughter, Dawna R. Clark (Larry) of Terre Haute; her son, Dana R. Payne (Margo) of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Rick Christy (Bethany) and their children Chloe and Belle; Samantha Pettyjohn (David) and their children Nathan, Brody, Beau, and Nate; Misty Clark (fiancée Stephen Kane) and their children C.J., Halie, and Leah; Jared Payne (Lisa); and Matthew Payne (Mitzi) and their children Boden and Bryley; a dear friend, Debbie Walls and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, of 18 years, Don Payne. Peggy was a member of the Terre Haute Bible Center and a 1947 graduate of Wiley High School. Visitation will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave with funeral services at 7:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Nash officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date in Little Flock Cemetery.
