Phillip William Cubel Jr, 58 of Gosport, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 11, 2023.

He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 27, 1965, to the late Phillip William Cubel Sr and Maxine Jo Cubel. He was a 1983 graduate of Frankton High School. He then served 8 years in the United States Army. He was a proud veteran. After serving in the U.S. Army, he continued on to a trade school, obtaining his mechanics license and then later his HVAC license.

Phil loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and his dog, Enoch. He loved his morning coffee ritual of talking with his mother and sisters. He loved camping, taking care of his garden, tending to his chickens, and fishing.

Phil is survived by his loving Mother Maxine Cubel and his four children, daughters, Ashley Cubel, Britney Cubel, and sons Caleb (Shylee) Cubel and Drew Cubel. His five grandchildren that called him Papaw are Adriana, Giovanni, Emelia, Maverick, and Eisen; three sisters Lisa Cubel, Angelique Cubel Beamon (Scott), and Dawne Cubel; brother-in-law, Glen Zimmerman; uncle, Larry Parish and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his father, Phil is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents

Roy O'Dell and Dorothy Parrish, paternal grandparents, and sisters Shelley Brenneke and Levia Zimmerman.

A Celebration of Life will take place with family and close friends at a later date.
