Phyllis Opal May Shaw Bashaw, 75, of Brazil passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at home surrounded by family.  She was born on June 29, 1945 in Terre Haute to James Sidney and Esta Elizabeth (Westfall) Shaw.  She was married to the late Frank Bashaw.

Phyllis is survived by her children Kim O'Connell (Riley) of Terre Haute, Frank Bashaw (Glenda Galbraith) of Brazil,  James Bashaw of Brazil, and Kathy Tichenor (Steve) of Lewis; special great-niece Jackie Pittman-Tincher, grandchildren, Matt Clark (Britnee Hardey), Melissa Townsend (Cody Byers), Jordan Bashaw , Brendan O'Connell, Nathan Bashaw (Cassidy Wood), Cheyanne Bashaw, Jaydon Tichenor, Skyler Tichenor, Madison Lucas, Bayley Tichenor, Hunter Bashaw, and Frank "Trey" Bashaw III; great-grandchildren Brayden Townsend, Jaylynn Clark, Addison Townsend, Brielle Clark, Karson Marks, Greyson Townsend, Carmen Richey Clark, Oliver Stephens, Jackson Bashaw, Brynlee Stephens,  Liam Bashaw, and, Penelope Tichenor; sisters June Jones (Sonny) and Mary Jane Smithart (Melvin), brother Danny Shaw (Cathy), and sisters- in- law Alice Shaw and Betty Shaw, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Jonathon Bashaw and several siblings.

Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and her animals.  She had attended Barbour Avenue Church.  She will be missed and loved by many.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Samaritan Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Memorial service will follow visitation.  Pastor Bob Roush will be officiating.  Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society of Sullivan County, Ouabache Valley Felines & Friends or Putman Animal Shelter.  Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
