Rebecca Lynn Higgins, 64, of Terre Haute passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on May 28, 1962, to Eugene and Betty Hayes. Rebecca was a loving, caring, and giving mother. She loved taking care of others, this led her to a career as a CNA where she thrived and made a difference in so many that she cared for. Being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother brought her so much joy. She also loved her cats. Rebecca was a very hard worker, and it showed not only in her work but in her home life as well. She leaves wonderful, precious memories of love and laughter. The void she leaves will never be filled, but the stories and her legacy will live on within her family.

Rebecca is survived by her sons David Higgins (Heather) and Bobby Higgins (Courtney), grandchildren Dalton Higgins, Shelby Higgins, Kinsley Higgins, Ariel Maxwell, Megan Maxwell, Brayden Light, Kyndal Parke, and Clayton Parke; great grandchildren Nash Higgins and Willow Wilson, brother David Hayes and sister Linda Curtis, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobbie Higgins, brother Gary Hayes, and sister Gail Hayes.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Samaritan Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Service will begin at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Tim Fagg officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
