Richard Lee Crouse, 86, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1940, in Lewis, Indiana, to Melvin M. Crouse and Ruby M. Browning Crouse. Richard attended Rankin Elementary School and graduated from Garfield High School in 1958. He was baptized on June 1, 1963. Richard married the love of his life, Darlene JoAnn Crouse on June 8, 1963, at St. Patrick’s Church. They spent nearly 53 years together until her passing on March 18, 2016.

Richard spent most of his professional career in sales working for various companies including WWCM, Powered Equipment and Furrows. He enjoyed woodworking and caring for his koi pond and canine companions. Richard was very neighborly and was good friends with those surrounding his home. He was also a car enthusiast and spent many enjoyable hours building and flying remote-controlled airplanes.

Richard is survived by his children Timothy L. Crouse (Claire) and Catherine Ann Crouse (Kelly McKee), grandchildren Samantha Lohsl (Brad), Molly Schultz (Blake), Charles T. Crouse, and Lydia K. Crouse, and great-granddaughter Emmett Lohsl. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. Private graveside services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance of Richard may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
