Richard Arlen Pirtle passed away at Methodist Hospital in the trauma ICU on August 12, 2022. He was born June 15, 1942, the son of Melvin and Imojean Flemming Pirtle. Rich is survived by his wife Stevie, whom he married May 31, 1963; daughters Stacey Smith (Cory) and Susan Bradway (Bruce), son Robert Pirtle (Pam), grandchildren Alex, Tucker, Sabryna, Eli, and Annie; Scott, Renee, Ashley, Tiffany, and Ryan; Mindy (Andrew), Ashley, and Michael; his siblings Jack M. Pirtle and Patricia Pirtle DelFabro, and many loved great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother John Lee Pirtle, sisters-in law Verlene Ridge Pirtle and Patricia Kelly Pirtle, and brother-in-law Louis A. DelFabro.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Sullivan First Christian Church from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with Reverend David Cox speaking at 1:00 p.m.  Arrangements were entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
