Richard Wayne Tarr husband, father, Illinois State Police officer, and farmer passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025.
Born January 29, 1932, in North Muddy Township, Jasper Co. Illinois to Vern Tarr and Vada Belle Shoemaker (Tarr & Shumard).
He graduated 8th Grade April 28, 1945, and was inducted into the United States Army October 14,1954. He served in Europe driving and operating heavy trucks and equipment for almost two years. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army September 27,1956 and received the Good Conduct Medal.
He then attended and graduated the Illinois Police Training Academy July 26, 1957. He was employed with the Illinois State Police until he retired on December 31, 1984. After he retired, he started farming again in Casey, IL and drove for hazardous material companies.
Married Rosanna Eva Tedeschi September 29, 1959, and had 2 children, Peter (Audri) and Abigail Tarr Cooke (Don).
Richard loved God, his dogs, coffee, the great outdoors, fishing and hunting, especially wild turkey hunting.
He was proceeded in death by his lovely wife of 54 years, his parents, his siblings, Virginia, Margaret, Donald, Robert, Marcella, Howard, and Doris.
He is survived by his children, 1 brother Kendall (Zana Johnson), 2 Grandchildren, Haley and Gemma, a great grandson, Peyton, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at the Wheeler Cemetery, Wheeler, IL at a later date.
