Robert  M. "Bob" Smith, 71, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021.  He was born June 18, 1950 in Terre Haute to Paul and Delores Smith.  Bob served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He was also a member of the American Legion 346 and Eagles 291.  Many knew Bob as a talented musician.  He played with several bands in Terre Haute as a drummer and vocalist.  He was a 50 year member of the Wabash Valley Country Music Hall of Fame.

Bob is survived by his wife of 23 years, Vickie Smith, daughter Melissa Smith, grandchildren McKenzie Smith and Gaven Fisher, and brothers Dale Smith (Starlett) and Gregory Smith (Theresa).  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Samaritan Funeral Home located at 2425 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Service will follow visitation.  Military honors will be performed as well as a service from the Eagles Lodge.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
