Robert J. Gray, 80, passed away April 29, 2023.  He was born in Sullivan, IN to George Gray and Pauline Blakeman Gray on June 14, 1942.  Robert was preceded in death by both parents as well as his step parents John Patton of Sullivan, IN and Marge Gray of California; siblings James Franklin of Edinburg, IN, Freda Bowen of Columbus, IN and step-sister-in-law Sally Patton of Columbus, IN; son-in-law Rick Usrey.  Robert is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Hazel Ruth Holmes Gray; children Sara Usrey of Merom, IN, Mark Gray (Tina) of Fairbanks, IN, and Janet Troup(Steve LeJeune) of Alamo, IN; half-sister Tina Smithheart  (Allen) of Folsom, CA; step-brother Bill Patton of Columbus, IN; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.  Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge as well as Sullivan First Christian Church.  He was a professional over the road truck driver of 54 years.  Robert enjoyed tractor pulls, spending time with his grandchildren, and loved his animals.  Robert served his country for 6 years in the United States Army, earning the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and One Overseas Bar.  There will be a celebration of Life for Robert at a later date.
