Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rob Teague on June 28th, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Rob was a loving Husband, devoted Father, and cherished Poppy. After 26 months Rob won his fight with Glioblastoma Multiforme IV and moved on to his eternal life cancer free.

Born on October  20, 1961 in Chappel, Nebraska, to Robert (Bob) & Betty Lou Teague.  Rob was raised in El Paso, TX where he graduated from Andress High School and Central Texas College, in Killeen Texas. Rob is survived by his wife Sonja, who adored her Cowboy for 22 amazing years, his children, Mandy Allen ('his buddy" Johnathon),  Heather Capps (Trevor),  Robert (Robbie) Teague III (Stephanie), Kelsie Dunaway (Antronn), and stepson Amos Johnson III.

Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Kendal, Carter, KoraLeigh and Crosby (Boz) Allen, Briley VanLannen, Brantley and Brinley Capps, Savannah and McKenna Teague and Haiden and Cameron Dunaway.  Being "Poppy" as he was lovingly called, was one of his greatest joys.

Rob is also survived by his father-in-law and best friend Jim Taylor, his "bestest" sister-in-law Jackie Quon (Ken), who have helped to support and care for Rob  throughout his illness.  His siblings, Toni Bruns (John), Tami Bevis (Randy), and Scott Teague (Barbara), other sisters-in-law Cami Brock, Maralee Taylor and brother-in-law Jimmy Taylor (Tracie), and Mike Taylor as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rob was preceded in death by his Mom and very best friend Betty, his children Heather and Ryan Teague,  his granddaughter Kinsley Sue Allen, brother-in-law James Taylor,  mother-in-law Sandra Taylor, and nephew Joseph Teague.

Rob was affectionately nicknamed Cowboy by his previous coworkers at both TKP and PAE and was proud to be just that. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed being a practical joker, driving RC cars, Mexican food, and a good steak, specifically Texas Roadhouse. Rob made a significant impact on all that knew him. He was known for his kind heart, offering a helping hand to anyone in need.

Although Rob is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, resilience, humor and selflessness will endure, serving as a reminder of the incredible person he was.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Monday, July 3rd, 2023 at 11 am at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church located at 2128 8th Ave in Terre Haute, IN with Pastor Johnathon W. Allen presiding. Family and friends are invited to gather together to honor and remember this remarkable man. A meal provided by the EABC deaconesses will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations can be made to Elara Caring Hospice Foundation who so graciously cared for Rob or to the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Delta Theta Tau who sponsors the Head for the Cure run in his honor each year.  A very special Thank you to our Elara Hospice Nurse Michelle Eslinger and CNA Kyla Sylvester who were absolutely amazing and helped to keep Rob pain free.
