Rosalie I. Higgins, 71, of Terre Haute Indiana born on Oct 13, 1944 passed away September 21, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother. She was an active bingo, bunco and card player. She was preceded in death by her husband David Higgins whom she married November 4th, 1960, 3 sons Davey, Bobbie, and Johnny. Parents Arthur and Irene Coleman, 1 sister Dianna (Annie) Slaven, 2 brothers Robert (Nook) Coleman and Levi (Buddy) Coleman, 2 nephews Robert Coleman Jr and Chad Coleman. Survived by 1 son Ricky Higgins Sr and his wife Tammie Higgins, her daughter Christina Buchanan and husband Chris Buchanan of Greencastle, daughter in law Becky Higgins of Terre Haute, Goddaughter Dianna "Annie" Slaven of Terre Haute. 5 grandsons David and wife Sarah Higgins, Bobby Higgins, Rj and wife Jennifer Higgins, Joey and wife Jackie Higgins of Terre Haute, Christopher Buchanan II of Greencastle, 2 granddaughters Alexis and Corinne Buchanan of Greencastle. 8 great grandchildren Dalton Higgins, Shelby Higgins, Kinsley Higgins, Noah Higgins, Maddie Higgins, Carter Higgins, Jojo Higgins, Brooklynn Higgins of Terre Haute. She is also survived by siblings Arthur(Teed) and Terry Coleman, Larry and Penny Coleman, Jerry and Yvonne Coleman, Connie and Charles Dillon, Mary and Tim Fagg, Susie and Alan Grayless as well as sister in laws Sharon Coleman and Mary Coleman and brother in law David Slaven. She had several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be forever missed and loved by all of her family. She also had her dog Bela whom she loved dearly. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Intrepid Hospice team. We would especially like to express a big thank you to her nurse Sheryl Norris who went above and beyond her call of duty. Sheryl is truly an angel walking this earth. Visitation will be Sunday at Samaritan Funeral Home 4:00pm-8:00pm. Visitation starting at 11:00 on Monday with services to follow at Noon. Carry in will be held at her house after the services.
