Roswitha "Rose" Targett, 76, of Rockville, IN passed away peacefully in her home at 7:23pm Saturday, March 9, 2024. She was born in Augsburg, Germany on August 7, 1947. She was the daughter of Malcolm and Franziska Butler. She was the loving mother of Mike (Dawn) Thomas, Christine (John) Brown, Jennifer Berry and Dave (Christy) Berry. She has one brother, Mark (Vickie) Butler; two nephews, Levi and Avery Butler, and one niece, Delaney Butler. Her grandchildren are Rob (Mariah) Thomas, Melony Brown, Pamela Adkins, Andrew (Shari) Rozsa, Kasey (Sam) Parker and Ronnie Berry. She adored her great-grandchildren Andrea Rozsa, Grayson Thomas, Zach Jones, Kolten Johnson, Lucas Thomas, Nolan Thomas, Tristen Rozsa, Kensley Parker and two great-grandchildren are due in 2024.

After she retired from the Rockville Women's Prison in 2009, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, loved gardening and working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed reading and watching the birds and squirrels. Playing games on her phone was also a favorite pastime.

She has chosen cremation and there will be a celebration of life in the spring.
