Roy Melville Mix, 78, of Terre Haute left this earth on June 14, 2020 at home surrounded by loved ones.  He was born on January 31, 1942 to Rex J. and Vera Bond Mix.  Roy is preceded in death by both parents; brother Rex Alex Mix; sister-in-law Karen Mix, as well as his best friend and brother Robert 'Blackie" Heart.  He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Konnie Ashton Mix, whom he married on October 5, 1963; daughter Theressa Lynn Mix; son Roy M. Mix (Beth); grandsons Roy Michael Mix (Nicole) and Jeffrey Scott Knopp Jr. (Brianna); sister Sheryl Miller (Russell);one great-grandson and one granddaughter Emersyn Grace Lang; brothers Robert Mix (Linda) and Richard Mix, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Roy retired from the Terre Haute Street Department in 2008.  He was always laughing, but more importantly he loved making others laugh.  Roy was everyone's favorite person in the room.  He was also known to have a green thumb and enjoyed working with flowers.  Roy will be missed by many.  There will be a visitation for Roy on Friday, June 19 at Samaritan Funeral Home from 10:00 AM till 1:00 PM.  Starting at 1:00 PM friends and family members will have a chance to share their stories of Roy.  A private family burial will follow at Highland Lawn.
