Samuel Gary Hoar, 73, of Terre Haute passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024.  He was born November 1, 1950, in Bath, Illinois to Jack Hoar and Gwendolyn King Hoar.  Sam was a 1968 graduate of Garfield High School.  He worked as an electrician for many years and retired from his business, Machine Tool Service, Inc.  Sam enjoyed camping, fishing and boating.  Most of all he was a family man.  His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his greatest treasure and proudest accomplishment.

He is survived by his beloved wife of near 54 years, Linda Pruett Hoar, daughter Lori Hoar (Mike Waldbieser), sons Matthew Hoar (Debbie) and Kurtis Hoar (Mandi), grandchildren Hannah Johnson (Dylan), Shane Feuquay, Logan Hoar, Jordyn Hoar, Khloe Hoar, Mya Hoar, Ava Hoar, and Samuel Bragg; great grandchildren Hudson Johnson and Kaden Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Sam was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jacqueline Phillips and her husband Mac Phillips.

Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Sandcut Community Center located at 8049 Rosedale Road, Terre Haute.
