Obituary

Sharon Jean (Simons) Clem, 84 of Shelburn, Indiana, passed away peacefully in Jasonville, Indiana, August 19, 2026. She was born in rural Covington, Indiana at her grandmother Elizabeth Harris's home in September of 1941, the eldest daughter of George and Lois (Harris) Simons.

Following graduation from Danville High School she married her High School sweetheart and love of her life, Curtis D. Clem. Together their family grew with the birth of two sons, Brett in 1961 and Darren in 1967. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who deeply cared for her family, enjoyed cooking their favorite foods to include her Cannon School BBQ, Goulash, Magic cookie bars and Hershey kiss peanut butter cookies. In Later years she worked at the Sullivan County local BMV license branch. She enjoyed meeting and helping the customers assigned to her, with many mentioning her pleasant smile and willingness to make their BMV visit enjoyable.

Through the fruits of their labor, Curt and Sharon settled into the home they loved in Shelburn, Indiana. Nestled among the trees on their 10 acres, together they enjoyed watching the wildlife that would regularly come to the property, enjoying their swimming pool on the hot summer days, spending time together with family and friends frequently with cookouts and get-togethers. The stories she told, laughter she shared and guidance she gave will forever be carried in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
