Obituary

Shawna Hay, 20, of Terre Haute passed away on December 24, 2017 at 7:39 p.m. at Union Hospital. She was born on November 26, 1997 in Terre Haute to Colleen Pyne Hay and George Hay. She was a member of the Terre Haute North Bowling Team, and she also loved to play volleyball. Shawna loved photography and had a talent for editing photographs.  She was known to light up a room no matter where she was. Shawna had a special way of helping others through their problems.  She always tried putting others before herself.  Shawna's doctors remember her as being much more than just a patient.  Shawna is preceded in death by her grandmothers Valerie Pyne and Carolyn Feathers; and her grandpa George W Hay, also known as "Chopper George" whom she had a very close bond with; Shawna is survived by her mom Colleen Hay; her fiancé Tyler Carter and their two sons Brett Aaron and Blake Keith Hay-Carter; brother Kevin Hay; sister Sarah Hay; nieces Madison Wycoff and Alaina Coffey; uncle David Pyne and his wife Michelle; aunts Kelly Greene and Tammy Yates; cousins RJ Easton, Caroline Yates, Kaitlyn Easton, Jessica Cooper, Kori Ann Martin, and Jimmy Martin; aunt Peggy Easton; and her Godfather Ralph Granite.  Visitation for Shawna will be at Samaritan Funeral Home on 25th and Wabash in Terre Haute on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. with services starting at 2 p.m. Donations to help the family with medical bills and other expenses can brought to the funeral home.
