Shonda R. Purdin, 53, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 10:50 pm in Union Hospital. Shonda was born June 20, 1964 in Watseka, IL to Jerry Purdin and Marlene (Schaumburg) Purdin. She is survived by her parents; daughters, Teasa Hammond (Richard) of Terre Haute and Haley Wedell (Jury) of Goldsboro, NC; step-daughter, Alyson Pukoszek (Frank) of Crown Point, IN; grandson, Beau Hammond and she was awaiting the birth of a new granddaughter and step-granddaughters, Grace and Amelia; significant other, Ernie Merriman of Morocco, IN and his children and grandchildren; sister, Dana Harris of Illinois; brother, Alan Purdin of Utah and several nieces and nephews. Shonda was preceded in death by a grandson, Trace Hammond and a niece Danielle Harris Harter. She attended Morocco United Methodist Church. Family gathering will be Sunday November 12, 2017 from Noon until 2:00 pm in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Congregation at Schwer, 1812 E. 1130 North Rd., Milford, IL with a memorial service at 2:00 pm in the church. Private family burial will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford, IL Samaritan Funeral Home, Terre Haute, IN is in charge of arrangements.
