Stephen Benefiel, 59, passed away April 20, 2019 in his home after a long courageous battle with cancer.  He was born July 2, 1959 to Jack and Winefred Benefiel in Grand Forks, North Dakota.  He retired from Terrecorp of Indianapolis as their operations manager.
Stephen enjoyed riding his Harley but he most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to their school activities.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Winefred Benefiel and one brother Dean Benefiel.  He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Denise Benefiel, son Jack Benefiel, daughters, Charissa Keyes (Russell), Jenifer Robinson (Matt), and Lisa Chambers (Rory); grandchildren Logan Coleman, Brooklynn Garver, Jake Robinson, and Josie Benefiel;  brothers Wayne, Lee (Rhonda), and Kevin.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses at Great Lakes Caring in Greencastle.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Stand Up To Cancer.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Mt. Hebron Church in Cloverdale, Indiana.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with service to follow visitation.  Pastor Steve Ernest will be officiating.  Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
