Stephen Larry Franklin, 74, of Freedom, IN passed away January 5, 2020 in his residence. He was born October 10, 1945 in Bloomington to Lloyd and Evelyn (Jones) Franklin. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Franklin Heacox; son, Eric Franklin; grandchildren, Stephen A. Franklin, Andrew M. Heacox, and Alex N. Heacox; great-granddaughter, Ellie Marie Franklin; sister, Carole Cross; brothers, John Franklin and Doug Franklin and several nieces and nephews. Steve enjoyed woodworking, blacksmithing, gardening, and playing and building banjo's. He loved meeting his friends at the diner in Spencer every Friday and he loved his cats.
