Steven Alexander Painter, of Clinton, Indiana passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022.  He was born January 8, 1948 in Danville, Illinois.  Steve graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in 1966, where he played basketball.  He was a proud United States Army Vietnam veteran.

Steve was the son of Jasper (Jay) and Helen Painter, who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his oldest son, Barry, and his brother, Jay Painter.

Surviving family include his two sons, Shannon Painter of Boswell, Indiana and Josh Painter of Battleground, Indiana; one grandson, Nathaniel Painter, two sisters, Debby Cronkhite of Zellwood, Florida, and Vickie Schlene of Lafayette, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve enjoyed traveling, riding his motorcycle, golf, and any and all dogs.

His wish was to be cremated, so in lieu of a funeral, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Donations in his memory can be made to any local Humane Society or to the Montezuma Baptist Church.  Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
